The Huskies will be without true freshman Ramzak Fruean for their upcoming game against the Cornhuskers.
SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies football team will be playing the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 5 p.m. PT on Oct. 31 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Neb., coming off much-needed momentum.
The Huskies went into their bye week last week coming off their first Big Ten win of the season, a 38-26 victory against the Purdue Boilermakers on Oct. 16.
Unfortunately, Washington won't be taking on Nebraska at full strength.
It was announced at the beginning of this week that fourth-year center Landen Hatchett will be out for the rest of the season with a head/neck/spine injury after stingers in practice in the bye week.
The defensive line will also be one body down, as well, against the Cornhuskers.
First-year edge rusher Ramzak Fruean was listed as "out" for the game against Nebraska, according to the official injury reported released Wednesday. He exited the team's game against the Boilermakers with a knee issues that's continued to persist.

In Fisch's latest news conference Monday, he said that Fruean would either be a game-time decision or held out another week. It ended up being the latter.
Fruean was one of the highest-rated players in the Huskies Class of 2026, which ranked 12th in the country. He originally committed to the UCLA Bruins but decommitted before flipping his enrollment to Washington.
The first-year edge rusher has been a starter on the edge of the team's defensive line since the season began and has been tabbed for that role since the offseason.
In seven games, Fruean has recorded 14 total tackles (12 solo), including a half-tackle for loss and a half-sack in addition to one pass defended. He had one tackle in the win against Purdue before he left the game.
In place of Fruean, either fourth-year edge rusher and Ohio State Buckeyes transfer Logan George or fifth-year Russell Davis II will get the start. George is listed behind fellow starting edge rusher Jacob Lane on the depth chart whereas Davis is listed behind Fruean's slot.
Davis has four total tackles (three solo) in seven games played this season, including two tackles for loss, two sacks and one forced fumble.
In six games played this year, George has nine total tackles (four solo), including a half-tackle for loss.
