The Huskies successfully intrigued multiple players who were on Montlake on Sunday for official and unofficial visits.
The No. 19 Washington Huskies were playing for both its present and looking to make good impressions on its potential future in the 118th Apple Cup against the Washington State Cougars on Sunday at Husky Stadium in Seattle.
The Huskies ultimately won the game 24-10 and made sure it maintained a spot in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. It also made a good impression on several players who the program is still looking to land.
Washington hosted well over a dozen recruits still in high school from the graduating classes of 2027-29. Some players were already committed to the Huskies from the Class of '27. Others, including the top tight end in the Class of '28 Tytan McNeal, the program is still attempting to earn commitments from.
Some visits were official and others were unofficial, but there seems to be an almost-uniform consensus from players who made their impressions known publicly, and they're positive.
Four-star quarterback Hunter Fujikawa and three-star linebacker Julian Bruno were among the players who had positive opinions on their respective trips to Montlake for the Apple Cup.
"My game experience at Washington was great," Fujikawa said in an article written by Blair Angulo for 247Sports. "The atmosphere was definitely what stood out to me the most."
Fujikawa ranks as the 286th-best overall player in the Class of '28, the 18th-best quarterback and the second-best player in Hawaii, per the 247Sports composite.
On3 Sports' prediction model currently has Stanford, Nebraska and Alabama as the likeliest teams to land Fujikawa (in order) but it seems like the Huskies could be in the thick of that recruitment following the visit.
Bruno said he was "very interested" in UW according to an article written by Collin Kennedy for Dawgman.com.
Bruno is ranked as the 419th-best player in the Class of '28, the 27th-best linebacker and the 29th-best player in California, per the 247Sports composite. Stanford is currently the heavy favorite to land him, per On3 Sports' prediction model.
In addition to Fujikawa and Bruno, Washington also made a good impression on the top offensive tackle in the Class of '28.
Per a story shared to his official Instagram account, which was screenshotted and shared in a post on "X" from SeaTown Sports' Kevin Cacabelos, Antijuan Wilkes Jr. said "feels like (home)."
Wilkes is ranked as the 13th-best player in the nation, the best offensive tackle and the best player in Michigan, per the 247Sports composite. Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State are currently the three favorites to land the blue-chip offensive tackle, per On3 Sports' prediction model.
