Versatile DB Jeovanni Henley has the Huskies among the five final teams he's considering
The Washington Huskies football team's 2027 recruiting class is shaping out to potentially be the best in program history.
The Huskies currently have 13 players committed to the program from the Class of '27 and that number seems likely to increase in the coming days and weeks.
Several players in recent days have named Washington as one of the final teams they're considering and that list of players includes a versatile defender.
Three-star Class of '27 athlete/defensive back Jeovanni Henley named the Huskies as one of the five final schools he's considering. The other four teams are: Cal, Texas, Penn State and BYU.
Henley currently attends Junipero Serra High School in Palo Alto, Calif. He's ranked as the 1,215th-best overall player, 96th-best athlete and 106th-best player in the class according to the 247Sports Composite.
Despite being listed as an athlete, Henley is being recruited by UW and other universities as a cornerack. He's listed at 6-foot, 165-pounds.
Henley is smaller compared to the other cornerbacks that have started for Washington on the outside under Jedd Fisch, including recent NFL draft picks Tacario Davis and Ephesians Prysock (both 6-foot-4) and assumptive 2026 starters Dylan Robinson and Emmanuel Karnley (both 6-foot-3).
Henley's versatility is what makes him an intriguing recruit. He's played on the outside, in the slot at nickelback and at safety in high school. He finished his junior year this past fall with 65 tackles (including 10 tackles for loss), five sacks and two interceptions.
Henley also has NFL ties. His cousin, linebacker Daiyan Henley, played his college ball with Nevada and Washington State before being drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers. The elder Henley has been a starter for Los Angeles each of the last two seasons.

Henley will visit UCLA on June 5, Cal on June 11 and Washington on June 19.
According to Rivals.com's prediction model, the Huskies have the third-highest odds to land Henley.
Cal has the highest odds to earn a commitment at 37.7%, Penn State is second with a 22.3% and Washington has a 14.6%.
The Huskies currently have the 11th-best '27 recruiting class in the country, per 247Sports. The 10 teams ranked ahead of Washington are, in order: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, UCLA, Southern California (USC), Florida, Notre Dame, Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State and Kentucky.
