The Huskies are looking to get a head start and take a good step forward in the '27 recruiting class and recently hosted Howard Williams
The Washington Huskies men's basketball team were only able to land one high school graduate from the Class of 2026.
The Huskies landed three-star small forward Lattimore Ford from Combine Academy in Charlotte, N.C. Before transferring to Combine Academy, Ford attended Mount Si High School in the Seattle area in Snoqualmie, Wash.
The rest of Washington's '26 recruiting class is comprised of transfers or international recruits.
Huskies head coach Danny Sprinkle and the rest of the coaching staff are looking to have better success in the Class of 2027.
Washington has already started to scout several of the best prospects available among the '27 high school graduates. Several of those prospects are in the Huskies' general area, including Bremerton, Wash., native Jalen Davis (No. 20 player in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite).
The Huskies are also actively making a push for the No. 13 player in the nation, Malachi Jordan.
While Washington is looking to ,and those two aforementioned players, it's also looking to land a small forward from Chicago.
According to a post on "X" from 247Sports recruiting analyst Dushawn London, the Huskies hosted four-star Class of '27 small forward Howard Williams for an official visit beginning Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7, 205-pound small forward played his junior season with Dynamic Prep school in Dallas. He's ranked as the 102nd-best overall player, 28th-best small forward and eighth-best player in Texas, per the 247Sports composite.
Dynamic Prep was Williams' third high school in as many years. He played with the City Reapers of the Overtime Elite last winter. Overtime Elite is a competitive prep league that has several teams compete with high school talent.
Williams averaged 13.3 points on 43% shooting (35.4% mark from 3-point range) across 16 games (12 starts) with the City Reapers.
Williams has also received offers from several other notable universities, such as Illinois, Mississippi State, South Carolina and California, among others.
The Huskies, who offered Williams back in May, seem to be in high-regard in the small forward's standing despite being relatively early in his recruitment.
According to Rivals.com's prediction model, Washington has the third-highest odds to earn a commitment from the Chicago native.
Williams' native Illinois has the highest odds at 28.1%, Mississippi State has the second-likeliest odds at 24.6% and the Huskies have the third-highest odds at 21.1%.
Sprinkle has garnered a reputation as a high-end recruiter in his time as a head coach despite only having one commit from the '26 class. And it looks like the coach is attempting to reaffirm that reputation for next year's graduates.
