The Huskies could earn another highly-touted Class of 2027 player
The Washington Huskies football team is currently getting ready for a 2026 season that has the potential to be an eventful one.
While the Huskies coaches and current players are getting ready for the year, the program is also trying to close out the current recruiting cycle on a strong note. And they could get a major recruiting win in the coming days.
According to an updated prediction model from On3 Sports, Washington currently has an 88.1% chance to land four-star Class of 2027 quarterback Blake Roskopf. The second- and third-likeliest teams to earn a commitment from Roskopf according to the website are: North Carolina (5.3%) and UCLA (1.3%).
A screenshot of On3 Sports' prediction odds for which team will land four-star Class of 2027 quarterback Blake Roskopf, taken on April 6.Roskopf, who attended the Huskies' junior day the first weekend of March, has been on the radar of the program for a while.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound signal-caller received an offer from UW on May 22, 2025. He attends Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Ariz.
Roskopf is coming off a season where he completed 66.1% of his passes for 2,815 yards, 37 yards and eight interceptions in his senior year.
One of Roskopf's teammates and current Washington commitment, four-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney, was his go-to target with Desert Edge. With the connection built in, it could be an instant benefit for the Huskies to land Sidney's quarterback.
Landing Roskopf would also bring Washington one step closer to land its first top-five recruiting class in program history.
Currently, the Huskies' '27 recruiting class ranks seventh in the country, according to 247Sports.
Washington currently has 10 commitments: Four-star defensive lineman Jon Ioane, Sidney, three-star wide receiver Braylon Pope, three-star cornerback/athlete Maurice Williams, three-star running back Jeremy Adeyanju, three-star defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei and three-star linebackers Isaiah Leilua, Ethan Coach, Justin Coach and Titus Osterman.
The six teams ranked ahead of UW are, in order: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Southern California (USC), Notre Dame and Georgia.
Roskopf also has offered multiple other four-star quarterbacks, Sione Kaho and Peter Bourque. The former, who plays just down the road from Montlake in Tacoma, Wash., listed the Dawgs as one of the final teams he's considering.
The Huskies' collection of 2026 recruits finished 12th in the nation, which was the highest ranking in program history for a recruiting class. Several players from that class, such as four-star running back Brian Bonner Jr., three-star running back Ansu Sanoe, five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene and four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay have already started to earn significant reps in spring practice.
