This weekend could potentially be a major turning point for the Huskies '27 recruiting class
This weekend could prove to be one of the most pivotal in the 2027 recruiting cycle for the Washington Huskies football team.
Many uncommitted four-star recruits will take the next several weeks to make their final trek around the country to see their finalists before making the decision.
The Huskies will be the destination for several of those players, including several key targets set to visit this weekend.
Washington will host several four-star players for official visits from May 29-31 at the school's campus on Montlake in Seattle.
Here's an overview of the four players the Huskies are set to host:
Dontay Tyson Jr., wide receiver
The Huskies have two wide receivers committed in the Class of 2027: four-star Zerek Sidney (Ariz.) and three-star Braylon Pope (Wash.).
Washington is looking to add several more targets to the class and is one of the final two teams, alongside the Texas A&M Aggies, being considered by four-star wide receiver Dontay Tyson Jr.
Tyson is ranked as the 325th-best player in the country, the 42nd-best wide receiver in the class and the seventh-best player in Arizona in the class, per the 247Sports composite.
Washington and Texas A&M have near-equal odds to land Tyson, per Rivals.com's prediction model. The Aggies have the edge at 40.8% and the Huskies have a 35.7% chance to land Tyson.
Jailen Hill, cornerback/safety
Jailen Hill has had an eventful commitment. Toward the end of winter, it seemed like he was destined to commit to the Indiana Hoosiers.
Hill opted to prolong his recruitment and Washington made a push into his top five in April, alongside the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Florida State Seminoles, Ole Miss Rebels and Tennessee Volunteers.
Currently, it seems like the Cornhuskers are the front-runners to land Hill. 247Sports Crystal Ball has Nebraska with a 100% chance and Rivals.com has a 95.2% chance to earn a commitment from him.
However, given the Huskies' recent push, there's a chance they could find themselves in even better standing with him with an impressive visit.
Hill is ranked as the 252nd-best overall player, 23rd-best safety (Rivals.com has him as a cornerback) and 20th-best player from California in the class per the 247Sports composite.
Chaz Gray, edge
Washington has made a major push recently for three-star New Jersey edge rusher Chaz Gray.
Gray is currently "warm" on the Huskies, per his 247Sports page. Nebraska, Tennessee and the Clemson Tigers are the other three teams he's reportedly warm on.
Gray is ranked as the 438th-best overall player, 38th-best edge rusher and ninth-best player in New Jersey per the 247Sports composite.
Kamil Loud, cornerback
Kamil Loud has been one of the Huskies' top targets at cornerback for most of the recruiting cycle.
Loud is ranked as the 403rd-best overall player, 40th-best cornerback and third-best player from Nevada in the class, per the 247Sports composite.
Washington made the cut as one of Loud's six final teams. The other five were the Miami Hurricanes, Cal Golden Bears, Auburn Tigers, Utah Utes and Florida State.
According to Rivals.com's prediction model, the Huskies have the third-highest odds to land Loud at 23.9%. Arizona State, which didn't make Loud's final six, had the highest odds at 31.9%. Utah has the highest odds among his finalists at 27.9%.
