Sixth-year transfer wide receiver Christian Moss won't be able to make his impact on the Huskies until the second half of the season.

During the Washington Huskies football team's training camp, a sixth-year wide receiver was one of the team's most consistent players.

Kennesaw State transfer Christian Moss, who had missed all of spring practice with a soft tissue injury, quickly developed a rapport with third-year quarterback Demond Williams Jr. in the fall. At 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Moss was able to use his size and ball skills effectively against the Huskies' talented secondary.

Moss was named the starting "X" to begin the season, making him the de facto successor to 2025 leading receiver and current Cleveland Browns wideout, Denzel Boston.

Unfortunately, it will be a significant amount of time before Moss shows what he could do in that role.

In Washington's Week 1, 24-10 win against the Washington State Cougars at Husky Stadium, Moss was knocked out of the game on the first drive and didn't return.

In subsequent news conferences, Huskies head coach Jedd Fisch said that Moss' ailment was a "soft-tissue" injury, but didn't clarify whether it was the same one that kept him out of action for the spring, and how long the timeline would be on the pass-catcher's return.

Moss was out for Washington's 16-14 win against the Utah State Aggies on Saturday, and he'll be out for an extended amount of time.

Per a post on "X" from ESPN college football reporter Pete Thamel, Moss' injury is a lower-body one and he's expected to miss two-to-three months, which would place his return anytime between early November to early December.

If the timeline ends up being accurate, it would place Moss at risk of missing the rest of the regular season, with the Huskies' last game taking place against the Oregon Ducks at a to-be-determined time Nov. 28.

Moss has had a tumultuous college journey to this point. He redshirted at Virginia Tech in 2021 and barely saw the field for the Hokies in 2022. After an injury led to him being removed from the roster and missing 2023, Moss transferred to the Kennesaw State, in his hometown of Kennesaw, Ga., where he played the last two seasons.

From 2024-25 with the Owls, Moss accumulated 59 catches for 892 yards and four touchdowns.

This latest update is the latest in a series of unfortunate events in the career of the Kennesaw native. As for Washington, it will now have to navigate a stacked Big Ten without Moss and several other key offensive contributors.
