The Washington Huskies women's basketball team will be entering the 2026-27 season with a considerable amount of expectations.

The Huskies are coming off a season where it made it the Round of 32 of the NCAA tournament, falling by three points in overtime to the TCU Horned Frogs.

Washington will have several of its best players from last season, including senior guard Sayvia Sellers, junior guard Avery Howell and sophomore forward Brynn McGaughy. Sellers earned a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2025-26, Howell was named All-Big Ten honorable mention and McGaughy was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman list.

In addition to those players coming back to Montlake, head coach Tina Sellers and the rest of the Huskies coaching staff have hit the recruiting trail hard.

UW has landed several notable players via the transfer portal, in addition to four-star Class of 2026 guard Amayah Garcia.

The Huskies' combination of additions this offseason left them with 12 players, leaving three spots open to fill on the roster.

Washington found the 13th player Monday by landing 6-foot-2 Hungarian guard Petra Toman.

The Hungarian shooting guard spent last season with DVTK-Hun-Therm Miskolc of the Hungarian EuroLeague.

In the '25-26 season in Hungary A-Division competition, Toman averaged 8.2 points across 30 games on 53.5% shooting from the floor (38.3% from 3-point range). She also averaged 3.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals.

In Euroleague competition last season, Toman put 3.4 points across 14 games on a 35.3% clip from the floor (36.4% from beyond the arc) in addition to 1.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Toman's addition gives the Huskies a solid rotational piece in the front court capable of scoring at the rim and from 3-point range.

Washington also has a decent amount of size on the team, which could prove to be a major advantage in Big Ten competition.

Guards Brooke Carlson (transferred from Colorado State), Macey Huard (transferred from Oklahoma State), Kaelyn Carroll (transferred from Kentucky), Howell, Garcia and Toman are all listed at 5-foot-8 or taller. Huard, Carroll and Toman are all 6-foot-2 or taller. Howell is 6-foot and Garcia is 5-foot-11.

The Huskies also landed 6-foot-6 transfer forward Tilda Trygger from North Carolina State, who's taller than all but three players in the Big Ten.

The combination of ability, size and player profiles added this offseason gives Langley arguably the most versatile and deep roster she's had to work with since being hired ahead of the 2021 season.
