The Washington Huskies women's basketball team will be looking to take the next step forward as a program after having its best season in nearly a decade.

The Huskies finished last season 22-11 and advanced to the Round of 32 before ultimately falling to the TCU Horned Frogs.

Washington beat the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in the opening round of March Madness, which marked the program's first NCAA tournament win since 2017 and the first tourney win in three berths for head coach Tina Langley (two with the Huskies, one with the Rice Owls).

Washington has spent this offseason building what could end up being the most versatile and talented roster in Langley's tenure as head coach.

In order for the Huskies to exceed where it finished last season, they will have to go through what will likely be (again) a stacked Big Ten conference, which features defending national champions, the UCLA Bruins.

In that respect, Washington found out which Big Ten opponents it will face in the 2026-27 and which of those foes will be fought at home and away.

At Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, the Huskies will face the Indiana Hoosiers, Purdue Boilermakers, Iowa Hawkeyes, Wisconsin Badgers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, UCLA and Southern California (USC) Trojans.

On the road, Washington will take on the Illinois Fighting Illini, Northwestern Wildcats, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions, Minnesota Golden Gophers and Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Huskies will place the Oregon Ducks twice: once on the road and another at Alaksa Airlines Arena.

Since Langley was hired ahead of the 2021 season, Washington has posted a 34-52 record against conference opponents.

Since the Huskies made the transition from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten ahead of the 2024 season, the program is 19-17 in conference play. They finished the '24-25 season 9-9 against Big Ten opponents and were 10-8 against the conference last season.

Washington's roster next season will feature all of its all-conference selections from last season. First-team All-Big Ten senior guard Sayvia Sellers, All-Big Ten honorable mention junior guard Avery Howell and Big Ten all-freshman sophomore forward Brynn McGaughy will all be returning to the team.

The Huskies also continued to bolster the roster with 6-foot-6 North Carolina transfer and forward Tylda Trigger, Colorado State guard Brooke Carlson and Oklahoma State guard Macey Huard, among others.
