The Huskies are once again one of the final teams being considered by a four-star recruit

As each day passes, it seems like there's another four-star high school recruit that's listing the Washington Huskies as one of the final teams they're considering.

That was the case Thursday.

Four-star class of 2027 safety Gavin Williams out of Damien High School in La Verne, Calif., limited his list of college choices down to five and set up official visits with all institutions.

According to a story from Greg Biggins of Rivals.com, those five schools are: the Huskies, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and his native schools, UCLA and Southern California (USC).

Williams will visit UCLA on May 15; Washington on May 29; Texas A&M on June 5; USC on June 12 and Notre Dame on June 19.

Williams said in Biggins' article that he also has a visit planned for Michigan in the spring and could add the Wolverines to his list in the future.

Williams said that Notre Dame is his favorite visit "so far" and he's been to USC more than anywhere else, but he's developed an affinity for two coaches on the Huskies' staff:

"I really like (safeties coach) Taylor Mays and (defensive coordinator) Ryan Walters a lot," Williams said in the article. "I visited for the Purdue game (Nov. 15) and loved everything about the trip. ... I just want to experience each place for what it is and really see where I feel the best overall fit is, not just football, but the environment, the people, the culture, and where I’m most comfortable."

According to Rivals' prediction odds, USC has a 32.1% chance to land Williams; UCLA has a 16.9% chance to earn a commitment; Texas A&M has a 12.1% to get a commitment from the Californian safety; Notre Dame has a 10.1% chance to get Williams and the Dawgs sit last among Williams' current finalists with an 8.1% chance to get him to commit.

Williams is currently ranked as the 90th-best player in the nation in the class of '27, the eighth-best safety in the class and the 11th-best player in California according to 247Sports.

Washington has six players committed for the class of '27: four-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney; three-star wide receiver Braylon Pope; three-star athlete Maurice Williams and three-star linebackers Ethan Coach, Justin Coach and Titus Osterman.

Those six commitments currently have the Huskies ranked as the 12th-ranked recruiting class in the nation according to 247Sports.

Williams was also named as a finalist for other notable four-star prospects, including quarterback Sione Kaho, four-star cornerback Josiah Molden and four-star edge rusher Zane Rowe.
