LeJuan Watts and Steele Venters are on campus in Montlake to visit the Huskies

The Washington Huskies men's basketball team will be looking to fill roughly seven-to-eight spots on the roster this offseason before the 2026-27 season begins.

Two potential acquisitions are currently on campus in Seattle visiting the Huskies.

Senior forwards LeJuan Watts (Texas Tech) and Steele Venters (Gonzaga) are both currently on Montlake, according to a report on "X" from Dawgman247 reporter Jack McCauley.

Both players could fill crucial needs for Washington.

Venters, a wing and Ellensburg, Wash., native, is in his final year of eligibility after being granted a medical waiver following an injury-plagued tenure with Gonzaga.

Venters missed the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons with an Achilles tear and ACL tear, respectively. The 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward finally saw the court for the Bulldogs this past season.

In 27 games (10 starts), Venters averaged five points per game on 38.6% shooting (36.7% from 3-point range). He also pulled in 1.3 rebounds and dished one assist per game. He saw his playing time diminish due to injuries on the roster that forced head coach Mark Few shift to a defensive-focused rotation.

Before transferring to Gonzaga, Venters averaged more than 15 points per game in two consecutive seasons with Eastern Washington from (2021-23) and was the Big Sky Player of the Year ('23).

Watts spent last year with Texas Tech, where he proved to be a valuable player for a Red Raiders team that advanced to the Round of 32. He averaged 11.8 points per game on 43.3% shooting across 33 games (28 starts) while recording six rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.

Watts began his collegiate career in the Evergreen State. He played with Eastern Washington in the '23-24 season and transferred to Washington State for '24-25 before landing in Lubbock, Texas last season.

Watts' brother, defensive lineman DeSean Watts, transferred from Sacramento State to UW this offseason and is currently trying to carve out a starting role on the football team.

The 6-foot-6, 225 power forward would be an instant candidate to start at the four-spot for the Huskies and share the front court with graduate senior center Franck Kepnang or returning junior Lathan Sommerville.

Watts is also a career 37.4% 3-point shooter. If Washington is able to get him and Venters (career 39.4% mark from beyond the arc), those two and junior guard Wesley Yates III would help create a spaced-out offense capable of hitting 3-pointers. UW struggled with 3-pointers last season and was 17th in the 18-team Big Ten in percentage (31.5%) and 15th in makes per game (6.7).
