Two-time all-conference defensive back Tacario Davis has been dealing with an undisclosed injury the last several weeks

The University of Washington football team is set for a marquee matchup against the No. 1 team in the country, Ohio State, at 12:30 p.m. PT at Husky Stadium in Seattle.

Both teams will enter the game 3-0 and coming off dominant wins against in-state rivals. The Huskies beat Washington State 54-29 in the Apple Cup Sept. 20 and the Buckeyes prevailed over Ohio 34-9 Sept. 13.

Despite being undefeated and having one of the best offenses in the Big Ten conference (conference leading 55.7 points per game), Washington is yet to earn a vote in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll. A win against Ohio State, a program that's also the defending the College Football Playoff national championship, could earn the Huskies placement in the poll.

Unfortunately for Washington, the team will be without one of its best defensive backs.

Huskies senior cornerback Tacario Davis has been dealing with an undisclosed injury since he exited a game against UC Davis on Sept. 6. He missed the Apple Cup on Sept. 20 and was originally listed as doubtful for the contest against the Buckeyes.

In a recent update to the injured list, Davis was upgraded from "doubtful" to "questionable." Redshirt freshman safety Rahshawn Clark was also listed as out for the game.

Davis was on the field for warmups according to a video and report posted on "X" from Emerald City Spectrum reporter Aaron Coe.

Coe added another update on "X" showing Davis walking out of the tunnel in street clothes, confirming that he wouldn't play against Ohio State.

Davis was one of the featured defensive backs on Arizona from 2022-24 before he transferred to Washington before this season.

    Davis was a two-time all-conference selection while with the Wildcats. He was named second-team All-Pac-12 in 2023 and second-team All-Big-12 in '24.

The Long Beach, Calif., native registered 68 total tackles, 21 passes defended and an interception across his pair of all-conference seasons.

This year, Davis registered a solo tackle, two passes defended and had a pick before going down with injury.
