One of the best players in the Washington Huskies women's basketball team's history will have an opportunity to add to her already incredible international resume.
Former Washington guard Kelsey Plum was named to the FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament roster Wednesday. The qualifying round takes place from March 11-17 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The FIBA Women's World Cup will take place in September this year in Berlin, Germany. Team USA has already qualified for the main World Cup.
Plum will join a roster consisting of: Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, Sonia Citron, Caitlin Clark, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Dearcia Hamby, Rhyne Howard, Kiki Iriafen, Angel Reese and Jackie Young.
Plum has been a fixture on Team USA basketball for over a decade.
The 31-year-old professional won a Gold medal with the FIBA U19 team in 2013, a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American games, a gold medal in the 2018 FIBA World Cup, a gold in the 2022 FIBA World Cup, a gold medal in 3x3 women's basketball in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a gold medal with the 5x5 basketball team in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Plum played with the Huskies from 2013-17. During her time in the Pacific Northwest, she was a four-time All-Pac-12 selection, two time All-American, Pac-12 Freshman of the Year (2014) and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and Associated Press Player of the Year (2017). Her No. 10 was retired by the team Jan. 18, 2025.
With Plum on the team, Washington made the NCAA Tournament three times from 2015-17, made the Sweet Sixteen twice ('16-17) and the only Final Four in program history in '17.
In addition to her accolade-rich international and collegiate career, Plum has had a successful professional career.

A game between Phantom B.C. and Breeze B.C. on Jan. 30 in Philadelphia set the record for the largest attendance for a women's professional basketball game (21,490).
