The Senior Bowl is one of the premier pre-draft showcases for the evaluation of college football’s top talent throughout the week of practice. While it culminates in a Saturday game, the practice sessions are the most valuable to gain insight on players, from their skill set to coachability. The GMs, coaches, and scouts all gather in Mobile, Al., to assess their targets in the 2026 NFL draft, and Tuesday and Wednesday saw several players grab their attention. Colts Roundtable writer Jake Arthur had boots on the ground throughout the week of practice, reporting on the list of standouts.
There were several players on offense and defense who stood out through the first two days of practice. Notre Dame receiver Malachi Fields had a touchdown on Day 1, and a diving catch on Day 2 that went for 50 yards. Wide receiver Tyren Montgomery has made a lot of noise as a small school rep from John Carroll University, who had a leaping touchdown on Day 2 against San Diego State's Chris Johnson, and fared well in coverage on Tuesday against North Carolina cornerback Thaddeus Dixon.

The defense was highlighted by displays of speed, power, and athleticism. Notably, Texas Tech defensive tackle Lee Hunter showed off his ability to crash through run lanes and burst through the interior on his rushes. He followed up a would-be sack on National quarterback Diego Pavia with a sack on Day 2, showing off impressive mobility at his size. Other standout defensive lineman through both days were Penn State defensive tackle Zane Durant, Texas Tech edge Romello Height, Utah defensive end Logan Fano, and Duke defensive end Vincent Anthony.
