The All-Star guard joins Chicago after averaging 21.7 points per game in his lone season with the Miami Heat.
The Miami Heat had to make some tough calls after their blockbuster trade for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, and guard Norman Powell was a casualty of that.
However, the free agent has found a new home with the Chicago Bulls, as the two sides have agreed to a two-year, $45 million deal.
Powell was a large reason for the Heat turning into contenders in the Eastern Conference, and he earned his first All-Star appearance last season after averaging 21.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 47 percent from the floor and 38 percent on three pointers.
It was his second straight year averaging 21-plus points per game.
However, he was limited by injuries later in the year with a groin issue and illness keeping him off the court for significant time.
He landed in Miami in a three-team deal that saw him traded from the Los Angeles Clippers.
Now, the Bulls now land a proven scorer who is coming off the best statistical stretch of his career.

Powell will play his 12th NBA season with Chicago.
The former second round pick spent his first 5.5 seasons with the Toronto Raptors, where he rose from role player to premier scorer as a key part of their title run in 2019.
But once he was traded to the Clippers, he really started to blossom with an average 21.8 points per game in his final season in Los Angeles.
They burned most of their cap space, and will hope that it’s worth adding a proven scorer to the roster.
