Ohio State went on the road Saturday and embarrassed a Wisconsin team that's in complete free-fall. They won 34-0, and it could have been worse, The Buckeyes clearly looked like the best team in the nation.
It was so impressive that 60 of the 66 voters in the Associated Press Top-25 poll named the Buckeyes No. 1. Ohio State only had 50 first-place votes last week, but No. 2 Miami was upset at home, make the Buckeyes' case much stronger.
Indiana, big 38-13 winners at home over Michigan State, got the other six first-place votes and moved into the No. 2 spot. It's the Hoosiers' highest ranking in school history.
Ohio State and Indiana, both 7-0, appear to be on a collision course for the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 6, though there's still a long way to go. In a wild weekend, Ohio State was the only team in the top-25 to retain their position.
Vanderbilt beat then No. 10 LSU to move up seven spots from No. 17 to No. 10. It's the first time since 1947 that they've been ranked in the top-10. Three other SEC teams round out the top-five, with Texas A&M, Alabama and Georgia moving up after impressive wins.
