Ohio State was the favorite to defend its college football title, but the Buckeyes were upset by Miami Wednesday and they're out of the 12-team College Football Playoff. There's a new No. 1 betting favorite now to win it all, and that's the No. 1 seeded Indiana Hoosiers. Here are the latest odds.

From the first week of the college football season, it looked like Ohio State was poised to repeat as national champions. They were ranked No. 1 all year after beating Texas in Week 1, and the polls stayed that way until the end, when they lost to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game on Dec. 6.

The Hoosiers got the No. 1 seed in the 12-team College Football Playoff, but the Buckeyes didn't fall far, securing the No. 2 spot. Despite that, it was Ohio State that was the betting favorite going into the postseason, according to the folks at gambling website Fanduel.com.

But 2024 champion Ohio State was upset on Wednesday night in a quarterfinal game at the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas, losing to No. 10 seed Miami 24-14 despite being a 9.5-point favorite. It was the biggest upset ever since the tournament expanded.

With Ohio State out, there's a new favorite now.

It's unbeaten Indiana, who is 14-0 and routed Alabama 38-3 in the Rose Bowl on Thursday. The semifinals are now set, with Miami (12-2) taking on Ole Miss (13-1) on Thursday night in Glendale, Ariz., and Indiana (14-0) meeting Oregon (13-1) in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday night.
