Right before halftime of the Monday Night Football game against the Indianapolis Colts, 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro was sent out to attempt an end of half field goal. The kick was from 64 yards out, which would have set a new career high for Pineiro and would have extended San Francisco’s lead to two scores.
Despite the kick being dead centered with the uprights, it was a fraction too short, hitting the cross bar of the goal post. Had the kick been just a few inches longer, Pineiro would have given fans yet another reason to celebrate.
