Brock Purdy for MVP?
The 2026 NFL season is still young, but 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is making his case for MVP. Purdy is coming off of yet another victory to push San Francisco to 2-0. A victory over the mediocre Miami Dolphins isn’t what has fans excited. It is that the Niners struck early and never let up. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a lot of football to be played, but if Brock Purdy can keep up his strong play, he will be in the MVP conversation. But if you were to ask Purdy, I’m sure all he would care about is a Lombardi trophy.

The 49ers need to make quick work of the Dolphins
In the NFL there is no such thing as an easy win, but the Miami Dolphins may be the closest thing. With all of the injuries that the 49ers have endured, it would be in their best interest to not overlook their opponent on Sunday. If Brock Purdy and the rest of the Niners can lock in early and build up a big lead, that could mean some extra rest late in the game for the starters. The Dolphins made the Raiders look like an elite team in week one. The 49ers should be able to take care of business on Sunday.

Mike Evans showed 49ers fans what they have been missing
We are only one week into the NFL season, but it was one very exciting week. After hearing from “experts” that the division (and quite possibly the entire league) would run through the Los Angeles Rams, the Niners made easy work of their division rivals. Among the players showing out was newcomer Mike Evans. While one week won’t determine the Super Bowl, it was exciting to see this 49ers team have an end zone target in Evans. Let’s see if he can continue to develop chemistry alongside Brock Purdy.

The 49ers showed that they belong in the conversation
The San Francisco 49ers have heard nothing but praise for their division rivals this offseason. But Brock Purdy and the Niners made a statement with the demolition of the Rams. The Rams came into the season as the heavy Super Bowl favorites, while the 49ers had a tumultuous preseason filled with injury concerns. While one week doesn’t dictate the entire season, fans should feel a sense of redemption. Could they be a contender? We shall see. But they showed for one game that they are just as dangerous as anyone.

Should the 49ers trade for Maxx Crosby?
The 49ers take on the Rams in just a few short days, and with all of the attention on their division rivals, the question remains whether they should make a big trade. The Rams made a massive splash when they traded for Myles Garrett (while also bringing back Aaron Donald). The fear is that the Niners may be falling behind in the race for contention. One possible solution could be trading for Raiders’ Maxx Crosby. While Crosby is not quite on the same level as Garrett, he would be a nice consolation prize.

Christian McCaffrey will need to lead the 49ers
The 49ers are traveling abroad to begin the season against their NFC West foes and the odds are stacked against them. The Rams have the advantage in many different areas, but the Niners have one thing Los Angeles does not: an elite running back. Christian McCaffrey is in a league of his own. He continues to be along the top running backs in the NFL and has lead the 49ers to a successful run since coming over from the Panthers. If the Niners want any chance they will need Christian McCafrey to lead the way.

Can the 49ers get healthy for Australia?
The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with their fair share of injuries this preseason and have the challenge of traveling across the globe for their week one matchup against the Rams. Will the Niners be able to get some of their guys healthy enough to suit up against their division rivals? That remains to be seen, but Kyle Shanahan is doing everything in his power to make that happen. Monday’s practice saw absences from players like Nick Bosa, Mike Evans and Ronaldo Green, three guys slated to make massive impacts this season.

The 49ers offseason keeps getting weirder
As if San Francisco fans weren’t already tired of all of the storylines heading into the season, reports are that someone was arrested for impersonating a 49ers player. Daejon Love is being accused of defrauding over two dozen women out of more than $1.3 million. After some digging on the person, social media users discovered numerous photos and videos of Love posing as a professional football player. Some of the videos include him training and discussing life in the NFL.

It’s been quite the day for the 49ers
On one hand, fans of the San Francisco 49ers finally got a day where injuries were not at the center of the news. However, they probably were not expecting it to be about their owner’s legal troubles. According to WKBN, 49ers owner Jed York was arrested on Sunday in East Palestine, Ohio and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. The arrest comes after York “responded to an ad on a prostitution website and arranged a $140 sexual encounter.”

McCaffrey, Kittle react to Nick Chubb’s retirement
A couple of San Francisco 49ers showed on Saturday that the NFL is like a family. Veteran running back Nick Chubb announced his retirement, and Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle showed their respect for the All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler. McCaffrey went to social media to say “Congrats, bro. Thanks for all the inspiration.” Kittle added “The game will miss you!” Cheers to a fantastic career, Nick Chubb!

Should we be worried about CMC?
We are still a few weeks away from the regular season, but fans of the 49ers are becoming a bit nervous about the health of their star running back Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey has now missed a full week of practice due to a vague term of “tightness”. This type of caution would typically not be much to worry about, but given all of the injuries that the team has suffered over the past year; it is fair to have legitimate worry.

49ers keeping an eye on Vita Vea?
The San Francisco 49ers have a talented team already, but reports are that they are trying to get even better. According to Mike Garafolo from NFL Network, the Niners recently “checked in” on the star defender. Garafolo also mentions that, as of now, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to tell interested teams that Vea is not available. The defender has made it clear that he would like to be traded to another team after the two sides were unable to come to a contract extension.

George Kittle good to go week 1?
The San Francisco 49ers have received seemingly nothing but bad news when it comes to injuries. However, one little sprinkle of optimism has graced fans’ timeline. According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, there is a “high level of confidence” that tight end George Kittle will be ready to play come week one against the Los Angeles Rams. Zenitz also reports that Kittle’s rehab continues to go well. Hopefully the good news keeps coming for 49ers fans.

Deebo could be a major part of the offense
Much of the offseason has been spent talking about newcomer Mike Evans, but Deebo Samuel could be the X factor for the 49ers in 2026. Samuel returns to a San Francisco team that at times had trouble generating offense. The former Commander hopes to come and help the 49ers get over the hump. While he isn’t quite the player he was in his prime, Samuel adds a dynamic offensive weapon to pair with Brock Purdy. Mike Evans can make any big catch down the field, but Deebo Samuel is capable of beating the defense in a multitude of ways.

The 49ers’ injury luck continues to get worse
The 49ers are already badly hobbled and the season hasn’t even started. Well, it got even worse when it was reported that new wide receiver Mike Evans would miss camp on Monday due to a quad strain. Thankfully, Ian Rapoport of ESPN reported that Mike Evans’ absence due to his quad injury is more precautionary and should not be a major concern.

Are the 49ers cursed?
The jokes about the electrical substation and the relation to the injuries surrounding the 49ers were fun at first, but they are starting to sound real. After news that Ricky Pearsall would undergo season ending surgery on his PCL, DE Mikail Kamara was carted off the field with a leg injury. The season has already started out in a way that Niners fans hate to see, and we are still over a month away from week one.

Should the 49ers consider Vita Vea?
News broke on Monday that Vita Vea of the Buccaneers has requested a trade. The news comes after Vea and the Buccaneers could not come up with a contract extension. Naturally, many NFL teams will be placing calls to Tampa Bay inquiring about Vea, but could the 49ers have the upper hand over most other teams? According to Ted Nguyen of The Athletic, Vita Vea would prefer to go to a California team or the Raiders.

Kyle Shanahan recovering from serious car accident
The string of bad luck appears to be continuing for the 49ers. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday morning that head coach Kyle Shanahan suffered “significant” injuries in a car accident on July 14th. Schefter reports that Shanahan broke his nose, three ribs, his hand and required over 40 stitches in his face. He also suffered a severe concussion in the accident. He is expected to be limited when the 49ers begin training camp.

George Kittle shows off his recovery
After tight end George Kittle tore his Achilles tendon six months ago, the question began to be asked: would Kittle be able to come back from this? Well, George Kittle is trying his best to answer that question for fans. A video surface on social media of the 49ers’ tight end repping 665lbs in the weight room. While it remains to be seen just how well he will look on the football field come week one, this video is good news for a fanbase that has witnessed so many injuries as of late.

Could the NFC West get even more difficult?
The 49ers already have one of the more competitive divisions in the entire league, and by the looks of it, it could get even harder. After the Rams made the blockbuster trade for superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett, legend Aaron Donald reportedly could be eyeing a return to the field. While no such news of Donald’s return has occurred yet, it is a rough reality for the Niners. Not only will they need to go through one of the best edge rushers in the game today in Garrett, but also one of the best to ever do it in Donald.
