The 49ers Miss Out on Possible Crosby Acquisition

Speculation about the San Francisco 49ers possibly trading for Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby all but ended tonight.

News broke this evening about a blockbuster trade involving the three-time All-Pro, with the Baltimore Ravens sending two first-round picks to the Raiders in exchange for Crosby.

Yardbarker.com detailed the significance of this to the 49ers by stating, 

"After missing out on Crosby, bolstering the pass rush remains a major priority for the 49ers heading into the 2026 season. San Francisco's defense recorded just 20 sacks in 2025—the fewest in the NFL by a wide margin.

The 49ers are expected to address the need through both free agency and the draft, even after using three selections on defensive linemen in last year's draft."
