The entire season for the Niners has been less than ideal. Injuries have been an unfortunate storyline from day one. One important part of the Niners’ roster that has yet to step foot on the field is their wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. After suffering a season ending knee injury last season, the hope was that he would eventually be able to return this season. However, heading into week 12 it does not appear that Aiyuk will ever suit up for the Niners.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Niners have voided Aiyuk’s guaranteed money on his contract for 2026. This comes after the wide receiver failed to attend team meetings or activities. Due to what the team calls a “failure to fulfill his contractual obligations”, they could be looking at moving on from Aiyuk completely.
