According to a piece by Niners Nation writer, Kyle Posey, there has been much speculation over why the San Francisco 49ers decided to void the contract guarantees of franchise wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.

Citing ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano, Posey's report mentioned how the clearing of a $24.9 million option bonus would help in the potential scenario that the team opts to part ways with the receiver at season's end.

The piece continued by referencing a potential source of many of the team's problems with Aiyuk: a refusal by Brandon to attend various team rehab appointments while trying to heal from his major ACL/LCL injury suffered in week seven of last season against the Chiefs.

The voiding of his contract definitely signals a potential end to Aiyuk's tenure in San Francisco, but what team would take him on with what appears to be off-field baggage and a major knee injury?
