San Francisco eyes another win by replicating defensive dominance, unleashing McCaffrey, and ensuring Purdy stays in rhythm against his former team.

Fresh off a dominant Week 11 win in Arizona, the San Francisco 49ers return home for a Monday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers. While this  game looks favorable on paper, it's one the Niners can’t afford to overlook as they continue climbing the NFC West standings.

Here are three keys to a 49ers victory:

    1. Replicate the Defensive Dominance From Week 11

If the 49ers’ defense plays anything like it did against the Cardinals, the Panthers will struggle to move the ball. Last week, San Francisco forced turnovers, created pressure, eliminated explosive plays, and took advantage of every Arizona mistake.

That’s exactly the formula they need again.

Carolina’s offense has been inconsistent, and their offensive line has been one of the most vulnerable units. If the young Niners’ front can bring the same energy by creating chaos, dictating tempo, and forcing third and long situations this defense will shut down the Panthers early.

    2. Let Christian McCaffrey Go Off Against His Former Team

Christian McCaffrey playing against the Panthers is personal. Add in his Week 11 performance and the fact that Carolina has struggled mightily against the run, and the stage is set for CMC to take over this game.

Whether Brock Purdy is lighting up the passing game or the 49ers are leaning on the ground attack to control the clock, McCaffrey is the centerpiece. His versatility creates a matchup nightmare for a Panthers defense that simply doesn’t have the personnel to contain him for four quarters.

Expect the Niners to feed him early and often.

    3. Keep Brock Purdy Comfortable and in Rhythm

Last week was Purdy’s first game back from his turf toe injury, and he immediately reminded everyone why he was always QB1. The 49ers don’t need him to do anything extraordinary this week. If he can just play clean, efficient football and keep the offense on schedule the 49ers will be set up for success. If he plays with the same confidence and timing he showed in Week 11, San Francisco’s offense should be in full control.

    Bottom Line

The 49ers enter this matchup as the deeper and more explosive team. If they replicate their defensive intensity with the young guys from last week, unleash McCaffrey against his former squad, and keep Purdy humming, they should roll into Week 12 with another win and all the more momentum needed in the NFC West race.
