Purdy torched the Colts with a career-high five touchdowns, etching his name in 49ers history and dominating Monday Night Football.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after delivering a dominant performance in the team’s 48–27 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football.

Purdy was in complete command of Kyle Shanahan’s offense, completing 25 of 34 passes for 295 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes, finishing the night with a 126.8 passer rating. The five-touchdown outing was the most prolific passing performance of his career and showcased his ability to attack every level of the field with precision and confidence. (He actually threw six touchdown passes because that one to Tonges right before the CMC touchdown was also a touchdown but what’s done is done.)

The milestone performance also placed Purdy in rare franchise company. His five touchdown throws marked the first time a 49ers quarterback has thrown five or more touchdowns in a single game since Hall of Famer Joe Montana accomplished the feat with a franchise record six scores against Atlanta during the 1990 season. With those five touchdowns, Purdy now sits at 17 passing touchdowns on the season and 81 for his career. More impressive when you take into account he sat out for eight games this season recovering from his turf toe injury.

Purdy’s performance against Indianapolis continued a red hot stretch over the last two weeks. After throwing three touchdown passes in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans, he followed it up with five more on Monday night, giving him back-to-back games with at least three touchdown passes. It marked the second time in his career he has accomplished that feat and his first since the 2023 season.

The offensive output as a whole reflected Purdy’s efficiency and command. San Francisco posted a season-high 48 points and 440 total yards, both marks representing the team’s highest single game totals since 2019 and 2024, respectively. The fireworks started early, as Purdy threw three first-half touchdown passes to three different position groups. He hit wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, running back Christian McCaffrey, and tight end George Kittle. That accomplishment hadn’t been matched by a 49ers quarterback in the first half of a game since Alex Smith in 2010.

With the postseason approaching, Purdy’s latest accolade shows his growing reputation as one of the NFL’s most efficient and dangerous quarterbacks. His NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor serves as another reminder that the 49ers are peaking at the right time and that their quarterback is leading the charge.
