NFC West Standings Through Week 10: A Two-Team Race for the Top cover image

Seahawks and Rams battle for NFC West supremacy. 49ers chase, Cardinals scrap, setting up a thrilling divisional showdown.

Ten weeks into the 2025 NFL season, the NFC West is once again shaking up. The Seahawks and Rams are tied at the top at 7–2, the 49ers are right behind at 6–4, and even the rebuilding Cardinals have managed to stay scrappy at 3–6. With seven weeks left, this division looks like it could come down to the wire every single week.

1. Seattle Seahawks (7–2)

Seattle has quietly put together one of the most consistent starts in the NFC. Sam Darnold continues to manage games efficiently, while the run game featuring Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet has kept defenses honest. The Seahawks’ offensive line has improved from last season, giving Smith the time he needs to get the ball to playmakers like Jaxon Smith-Njigba and newly traded from the Saints, Rashid Shaheed.

Defensively, Seattle has been opportunistic. Devon Witherspoon and Tariq Woolen headline one of the most dynamic young secondaries in football, while the pass rush, led by Boye Mafe, continues to improve each week. Pete Carroll’s team has found a balance of veteran leadership and youthful energy, keeping them in control of the division…at least for now.

2. Los Angeles Rams (7–2)

The Rams have reemerged as one of the NFC’s most dangerous teams. Matthew Stafford looks rejuvenated and Puka Nacua has continued his breakout campaign, even while injured. Kyren Williams has also been a steady force on the ground, helping Los Angeles maintain offensive balance.

On defense, Jared Verse remains dominant, but the bigger story has been the growth of younger contributors like Byron Young and Kobie Turner, who are giving L.A. consistent production in the trenches. After a big win over the 49ers in Week 10, the Rams look every bit like a team capable of making a deep playoff push.

3. San Francisco 49ers (6–4)

San Francisco sits just one game behind both Seattle and Los Angeles and remains firmly in the playoff mix. Despite an up-and-down stretch, the 49ers still boast one of the most talented rosters in the league. Mac Jones has shown better command of the offense in recent weeks, and George Kittle, Kendrick Bourne, and Jauan Jennings continue to give him reliable options through the air. Brian Robinson Jr. has brought toughness to the backfield, rounding out a balanced attack.

Defensively, the 49ers have battled injuries. As they prepare to face the Cardinals this week, it’s a crucial opportunity for San Francisco to rebound and stay within striking distance of the division lead.

4. Arizona Cardinals (3–6)

The Cardinals may be at the bottom of the standings, but they’ve been more competitive than their record suggests. With Kyler Murray sidelined, Jacoby Brissett has taken over under center, showing flashes of potential. Bam Kight continues to anchor the offense when healthy, and Marvin Harrison Jr. gives the passing game some explosiveness.

Defensively, Budda Baker and Zaven Collins are the emotional leaders, but the lack of depth has hurt Arizona in late-game situations. Still, head coach Jonathan Gannon has his team playing with effort and intensity, setting the foundation for long term improvement.

Final Thoughts

The NFC West is shaping up for a dramatic finish. The Seahawks and Rams are locked in a battle for first place, the 49ers are one strong stretch away from rejoining that fight, and even the Cardinals are capable of playing spoiler down the stretch.

Every divisional matchup from here on out will have playoff implications. Given the level of talent in this division, no one should be surprised if it comes down to the final week to decide who wears the NFC West crown.
