The wide receiver’s erratic social media campaign takes a sharp turn as he ditches professional representation to speak "live and direct" amid a deepening trade standoff.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has gone to extreme measures of late to try and force the franchise to cut him loose so he can join his close friend, star quarterback Jayden Daniels, on the Washington Commanders.

Aiyuk's social media antics have ramped up over the last few weeks — although they've yet to actually force San Francisco's hand.

For anyone wondering, "who is allowing this guy to post these things?," we may have an answer for you now.

In Friday's episode of Aiyuk's ranting, the 28-year-old revealed that he actually fired his agent months ago ... shocker, I know.

"I do not have an agent," Aiyuk said on his Instagram. "I terminated my SRA with my previous agent through the NFLPA last year in November."

An SRA, short for Standard Representation Agreement, is the NFLPA's official contract establishing a player's representation by a certified agent. By terminating it, Aiyuk formally ended that agent-player relationship.

Because Aiyuk no longer has a certified agent representing him, any public comments regarding his contract situation or future with the organization are now coming directly from the receiver himself rather than through a traditional representative.

Ironically, November 21, 2025, is when it was reported that the 49ers voided the guaranteed money in his contract for 2026 due to lack of participation. Nearly three weeks later, the Niners placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list.

"I just wanted to clear that up, because for some odd reason he came out a couple weeks or a month ago and said that he still represents me. I just wanted to let you know that that's not the case, and there's nobody who will be speaking for me. I'm not going to no third party or call no old people to get on here and speak for me. You're going to get it from me live and direct," Aiyuk continued. "They're lying for a real specific reason. They're lying because they're hiding stuff. Me, I have nothing to hide."

This whole saga is beginning to make so much more sense. To any person with just the slightest knowledge of how the NFL operates, Aiyuk's behavior has been, at best, confusing, and at worst, concerning.

And now that we know Aiyuk doesn't have a professional in his inner circle advising him either for or against what he's doing, it's now clearer why he's been acting in this manner.
