The Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades are in following the San Francisco 49ers' dominant 35-13 home opening victory over the Miami Dolphins, and one storyline stands far above the rest: Brock Purdy was virtually flawless.
Purdy earned the highest overall offensive grade in the entire NFL for Week 2 so far, spearheading an offensive performance that saw San Francisco score touchdowns on each of their first five possessions.

Purdy Delivers An NFL-Best Performance
Brock Purdy’s elite 96.6 overall offensive grade and 94.2 passing grade paced the entire league. Operating with efficiency, Purdy completed 20 of 22 passes for 287 yards, two passing touchdowns, and zero interceptions, while completing his final 18 consecutive pass attempts.
He also added a 2-yard rushing touchdown as part of a 30-yard rushing day (earning a game-high 83.1 run grade). Purdy finished with a 149.1 passer rating on the afternoon, bringing his season rating to 125.6 through two games.
Offensive Line & Pass Protection Metrics
San Francisco's primary starting line once again kept Purdy completely clean, Purdy has yet to be sacked through two games this season.
- Trent Williams led all 49ers linemen with a 72.8 offensive grade, allowing just one pressure and one hit across 26 pass blocking snaps while posting a team-best 75.4 run blocking grade.
- Connor Colby recorded the game's highest pass blocking grade at 86.3, surrendering zero pressures on 27 pass blocking snaps.
- Colton McKivitz struggled slightly in pass protection, charged with three of the four total pressures allowed by San Francisco's offensive line (48.3 pass blocking grade).
- Vederian Lowe logged the group's lowest grade at 41.8 over a small 8-snap sample size.
Across the entire offense, the lowest individual blocking marks belonged to tight end Luke Farrell (49.7 run-blocking grade) and backup running back Jordan James (8.0 pass-blocking grade).
Pass Catchers & Rushing Numbers
- George Kittle dominated in his second game back from his Achilles recovery, leading all receivers with a 93.0 receiving grade on four catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.
- Kyle Juszczyk was Purdy's second-highest graded weapon in the air, converting both of his targets for 27 yards and a touchdown.
- Deebo Samuel had an uncharacteristically low day, grading out at 58.4 overall (60.5 receiving grade) after being charged with San Francisco's only drop of the game and a team-low 57.0 run grade.
