Kyle Monangai exploded for 176 rushing yards, silencing any trade deadline concerns for the Bears' backfield. This seventh-round gem delivered a historic performance.

The Chicago Bears couldn't have put their fans through more of an emotional rollercoaster on Sunday, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 47-42.

The injury report had its fair share of concerns, as running backs D'Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back) were both out. However, Kyle Monangai had an incredible day on the ground, going for 176 rushing yards.

There were legit concerns about this Bears running game earlier in the year. Things really turned a corner in the 25-24 win over the Washington Commanders.

Swift had 108 yards on the ground in the win and followed that up with a 124-rushing yard performance in the 26-14 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Monangai had 81 yards and one touchdown against the Saints and just had the biggest moment of his young career. One thing that the Bears won't have to worry about at Tuesday's trade deadline is running back, that's for sure.

Monangai finished with the most rushing yards in a game by a Chicago running back since Matt Forte in 2011.

The Bears took Monangai late in the 2025 NFL Draft, picking him in the seventh round out of Rutgers.

After Sunday's outing, he now has 362 rushing yards and one touchdown on the season, which puts him at second on the team. Swift still has the lead, with 464 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

More than one player had significant contributions in Chicago's running game. Brittain Brown scored a 22-yard rushing touchdown in third quarter to make it 31-27.

Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 280 passing yards and three touchdowns. He also continued to make plays with his legs and ended the day with 53 rushing yards. One of the biggest plays he made was on the final drive, as he scrambled for 14 yards to set up the 58-yard touchdown pass to tight end Colston Loveland.

It's nice knowing that Chicago will have one less position group to worry about ahead of the deadline. The trade deadline closes at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. All trades have to be agreed on sent to the NFL office before that time.

The running backs could have another big day in Week 10, as Chicago takes on the New York Giants. The Giants rank third in rushing yards allowed per game at 150.

The Bears return home after their massive win to take on the Giants at noon CT on Fox.
