Cairo Santos gave Chicago Bears fans something to be thankful for with a couple of weeks to go before Thanksgiving.
He hit a 48-yard game-winning field goal to give the Bears a 19-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
The Bears were up 16-3 heading into the fourth quarter and found themselves in a similar position to the one they had in the 27-24 Week 1 loss to Minnesota. In that game, Chicago had a 17-6 lead in the fourth quarter and blew the lead as the Vikings scored 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Just like Week 1, Minnesota came back and took a 17-16 lead with 50 seconds left.
Luckily, the special teams showed up in a big way, as Devin Duvernay returned the kickoff 56 yards and put the Bears at the Vikings' 40-yard line on their final drive of the game. Chicago ran the ball three times and Santos nailed the game winner.
He became a part of Bears' franchise history on Sunday, as he has now made the most field goals of 50 or more yards for Chicago. Santos went 4-of-5 on field goals, with his longest of the day coming in at 54.
Santos has 24 field goals of 50 or more yards, passing the likes of Robbie Gould (23) and Kevin Butler (16).

Cairo Santos made Bears history in today's win over the Vikings 👏
This news is great for Santos and I'm sure Chicago fans are very happy for him, but it's surprising since he usually isn't thought of for having that kind of range. However, coming into the game his long of the season was 52 yards.
Santos has been with Chicago since 2020 but has spent time with various NFL franchises.
He was first with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014. He spent four seasons there before joining the Bears in 2017. After one year in Chicago, he left for the Los Angeles Rams in 2018 and also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that season.
Santos played for the Tennessee Titans in 2019 before coming back to Chicago.
It hasn't been an easy 2025 season for him, as he missed the game against the Washington Commanders with an injury. Jake Moody was called up from the practice squad and hit the game-winner in a 25-24 victory.
However, despite concerns about who was going to be kicker for Chicago, head coach Ben Johnson stuck with Santos, stating that when healthy he would return to his normal kicking duties.
Finding a consistent kicker is hard in this league, but Chicago has their man and is now 7-3 thanks to him.
