Chicago Bears Receive Highest 2025 NFL Draft Grade cover image

Rookie standouts like Loveland and Monangai anchor Chicago's top-ranked draft class. Discover how these newcomers propelled the Bears' success.

The Chicago Bears hit on a lot of their draft picks from the 2025 class.

The Bears took Colston Loveland 10th overall, followed by Luther Burden, Ozzy Trapilo and Shemar Turner in the second round. Chicago didn't have a third-round pick, so it took Ruben Hyppolite II in the fourth round.

In the fifth round, the Bears took Zah Frazier, followed by Luke Newman in the sixth round and Kyle Monangai in the seventh.

Out of those eight draft picks, four of them played significant minutes in their rookie seasons.

Loveland became part of Chicago's tight end duo with Cole Kmet. Loveland even led the team in receiving yards (713) as a rookie.

Burden stepped up in a big way after Rome Odunze went down with a foot injury, while Trapilo secured his role at left tackle halfway through the year.

The steal of the draft for the Bears was Monangai by a long shot. Monangai worked alongside D'Andre Swift in the Bears' backfield and finished with 783 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

With how much production the Bears got out of their rookies, it's no wonder that they received the highest graded 2025 draft class via NFL.com's Gennaro Filice. Chicago got an A+ for their 2025 class.

It's clear that General Manager Ryan Poles carefully selected the players that he drafted. You can even look back at the last few drafts for Chicago and see his vision.

Poles took Caleb Williams and Odunze from the 2024 class, both of whom have had pivotal roles in their two years with the franchise. Before that, he selected offensive tackle Darnell Wright and linebacker Noah Sewell in the 2023 NFL Draft.

After reaching the Divisional Round in the first year of the Ben Johnson era, Chicago now has the 25th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

There have been multiple mock drafts that have predicted that the Bears would select someone on the defensive line. However, the Bears have a recent need at left tackle that they need to address.

Trapilo suffered a season-ending patellar injury in the playoffs, and it's looking like he's going to miss a significant amount of time. Poles shared that the consensus is that Trapilo will miss most of the 2026 season due to the injury.

Chicago could fill that need either through free agency or the draft, but fans have to feel good knowing that Poles has a good eye for talent.
