The Chicago Bears echoed a legendary 1985 feat. Bears rush for over 280 yards, dominating the Eagles.

The Chicago Bears went back in time on Black Friday in their 24-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the Bears won by nine points, the game wasn't that close. Chicago dominated Philadelphia throughout the game, especially on the ground.

The Bears ended with 281 rushing yards as a team and two touchdowns. Kyle Monangai and D'Andre Swift were a great one-two punch, as the rookie had 130 rushing yards and one touchdown, and the veteran finished with 125 and one score of his own.

Some history was made in the win, as Friday was the first time since the 1985 season that the Bears had two 100-yard rushers in a game, via The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs.

On Nov. 10, 1985, Walter Payton had 105 rushing yards, and Matt Suhey ended with 102 in a 24-3 win over the Detroit Lions.

What made the achievement even more impressive back then was that Suhey was a fullback for the Bears that season. He entered the league in 1980 after being drafted out of Penn State and was a running back as a rookie.

Suhey was then converted a fullback and was the lead blocker for many of Payton's runs.

Of course, Bears fans know Payton very well. He finished with 16,726 career rushing yards and leads the franchise in that stat. He has an 8,124-yard lead over the runner-up, Matt Forte.

There were doubts about this Bears' running game earlier in the season, but thanks to Swift and Monangai, things have turned around.

Chicago now has the best rushing offense in the league, averaging 153.8 yards per game. Second are the Buffalo Bills, who average 147.2 yards per game on the ground.

Swift is looking like he might eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in rushing for just the second time in his career, while Monangai appears to be a seventh-round steal of a draft pick.

Swift now has 774 rushing yards, while Monangai's total is up to 621.

With Friday's win, Chicago secured its first winning season since 2018 and currently holds the No. 2 seed in the NFC. The Bears also fought off the Green Bay Packers for the division lead in the NFC North for another week at least.

Green Bay and Chicago meet for the first time this season on Dec. 7 at Lambeau Field. Kickoff is at 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.
