Detroit looms, but playoff destiny hinges on multiple outcomes. Will Chicago face Green Bay, Los Angeles, or a rematched 49ers squad?

It's almost playoff time for the Chicago Bears.

The Bears have one game left in the 2025 regular season, and it's against the Detroit Lions. The Lions beat the Bears handily in the first meeting, as Ben Johnson was welcomed back to Detroit with a 52-21 loss in Week 2.

Chicago lost its chance to play for the No. 1 seed with Sunday night's 42-38 defeat to the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers can take the No. 1 seed if they beat the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18.

Many scenarios could determine who the Bears will face in their first playoff game. Here are all the playoff scenarios for the Bears in Week 18:

No. 2 Chicago vs. No. 7 Green Bay

The one that is the most beneficial to Chicago would be to see the Green Bay Packers in the first round. The Packers are dealing with injuries at quarterback. Jordan Love didn't play against the Baltimore Ravens due to a concussion.

Backup Malik Willis started versus the Ravens, but left after suffering a shoulder injury. The status of both Willis and Love is uncertain heading into Week 18. Playing an injured Packers team would be the best outcome for the Bears.

For this to happen, Chicago needs to beat Detroit, or the Philadelphia Eagles need to lose to the Washington Commanders.

No. 3 Chicago vs. No. 6 Los Angeles

Then, there is the chance that the Bears could see the Los Angeles Rams in the first round.

First, the Lions need to sweep the Bears in the season series and beat them on Sunday. Next, the Eagles must win, followed by the 49ers taking down the Seahawks.

It could also happen if the Lions, Eagles, Seahawks, and the Arizona Cardinals win over the Rams.

Matthew Stafford and the Rams are a dangerous team, and definitely aren't the one you want to see in the first round. The Bears would fall to the No. 3 seed in this instance.

No. 3 Chicago vs. No. 6 San Francisco

A rematch with the 49ers is also likely if things fall the right way.

The Bears narrowly lost to the 49ers in Week 17, with the game coming down to a final play. For the rematch to happen, the Lions, Eagles, Seahawks and Rams need to win in Week 18. If all that happens, Chicago will be the No. 3 seed, much like with the Rams' scenario.

We saw just how tough it is to stop the 49ers' offense on Sunday night, so keeping the Bears from seeing this team should also be a priority.

First and foremost, the Bears should just focus on beating the Lions. Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.
