Lamar Jackson set to return, boosting Ravens' hopes. Key starters are healthy as the betting line shifts.

Well, it wasn't the news that Chicago Bears fans were looking for, but it appears that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is trending towards playing on Sunday.

Jackson hasn't played since Week 4 due to a hamstring injury, but he is likely to play at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 8. He has accounted for 869 passing yards, 166 rushing yards, 11 total touchdowns and one interception in game he's been healthy.

Friday's injury report for the Ravens had a lot of positives, including Lamar, as other injured players were without injury designations, via Baltimore Ravens media member Carita Parks.

Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), receiver Zay Flowers (shoulder), safety Kyle Hamilton (groin), receiver DeAndre Hopkins (illness), cornerback Marlon Humphrey (illness), fullback Patrick Ricard (calf), linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring), offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle) and receiver DeVontez Walker (oblique) are all good to go for the Ravens.

The betting line for the game was initially 6.5, favoring the Ravens, but has now moved to Baltimore as a 7.5-point favorite on ESPN BET. Jackson, who has been more likely to play as the week has gone on, could have definitely affected the spread.

The Baltimore quarterback appeared on Wednesday's injury report after being a limited participant at practice. He was limited again at practice on Thursday but was a full participant at Friday's practice.

Head coach John Harbaugh spoke about Jackson's availability after practice on Friday. He stressed that multiple people are involved in the decision.

“We'll see where it [Lamar Jackson’s status] is at going forward," Harbaugh said. "Everybody's involved in the decision, always. It's never [just the player’s decision] – the doctors are involved; every party is involved... I just think we're going to talk about it as we go and figure out what we have to do to try to win the game. That's really what we're going to try to do. What's our best opportunity to win the football game on Sunday? Where does everybody stand, including No. 8 – Lamar [Jackson] – and anybody else? And that's just how it goes. You do your best. We do talk about it at length, but it's not really a public conversation. We're going to try to put our best team out there and play our best.”

The Ravens are typically a good running team under Harbaugh, but Jackson's return is not ideal timing for Chicago. The Bears are going to be without two starting corners, as Kyler Gordon (groin/calf) and Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) will not be playing on Sunday.

Baltimore is currently ranked 10th in the NFL in rushing yards per game, at 126.2, but it will be interesting to see how Chicago attempts to slow down the passing game with Jackson back in the lineup.
