With coaching departures creating vacancies, Chicago eyes rising offensive minds like Davis Webb and Nate Scheelhaase to revitalize the Bears' attack.

After reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs, it was going to be hard for the Chicago Bears to retain most of their coaching staff.

Running backs coach Eric Bieniemy was the first domino to fall, as he heads back to the Kansas City Chiefs to be their offensive coordinator. Bieniemy used to be the OC in Kansas City from 2018-2022.

Defensive backs coach Al Harris has been linked to multiple opportunities. He interviewed with the Green Bay Packers for their DC opening and was reported to be the frontrunner for the same role with the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Packers hired Jonathan Gannon, and the Steelers brought in former Las Vegas Raiders DC Patrick Graham. Harris had a connection to the Steelers already, after playing for Mike McCarthy at the Packers from 2006-09.

Declan Doyle is the latest coach to be hired away. The Bears' OC is joining the Baltimore Ravens on the staff of newly hired head coach Jesse Minter.

Doyle will be a hard assistant to replace, but here's a list of some candidates I think the Bears should target, plus a few inside hires worth considering:

Davis Webb, Denver Broncos

Davis Webb played quarterback at Cal in college and is now using his football knowledge at the pro level.

He's been with the Denver Broncos since 2023 as the team's quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. He had a part in the development of Bo Nix and could use his expertise in helping Caleb Williams

The prospect of working with a promising young quarterback like Williams could be enough to convince him to leave Sean Payton and Denver.

Nate Scheelhaase, Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams averaged the second-most passing yards per game (276.9) this past season. Matthew Stafford put up some MVP-level numbers in 2025. Stafford threw for 4,707 passing yards, 46 touchdowns and eight interceptions in the regular season.

The man responsible for those numbers is Rams' passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase. Combining him with Williams in Chicago could be a recipe for success.

Hank Fraley, Lions

Hank Fraley was promoted from offensive line coach to running game coordinator in 2025.

His work with Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery is worth noting. Gibbs was seventh in the NFL in rushing yards (1,223).

Imagine him working alongside D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai in the Chicago backfield. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

J.T. Barrett, Bears QB Coach

Former Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett joined the Bears' staff in 2025 as quarterbacks coach.

He may have earned his shot at a promotion following his work with Williams. The Bears' quarterback took big strides in year two, and the chance to work with Barrett more closely may help him develop even more.

Antwaan Randle El, Bears WR Coach

The longtime NFL receiver deserves a shot at the OC job in Chicago.

His work with the Lions in 2024 was incredible. He helped the Lions achieve a franchise record 409.5 yards per game.

He kept things rolling with the Bears as WR coach and assistant HC. Randle El assisted the Bears' offense in achieving the sixth-most offensive yards per game (369.5).

Randle El and the Bears could benefit from him working more closely with the offense.

Finding someone to fill Doyle's shoes will be hard, but there are plenty of candidates for the Bears to choose from.
