The stage is set for the Chicago to redeem themselves on the road against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Minnesota beat Chicago 27-24 in Week 1 at Soldier Field. The Bears blew a 17-6 lead after the Vikings scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and Chicago only managed seven.
The Bears went on to lose their next game to the Detroit Lions 52-21, before going on a four-game winning streak.
That winning streak ended with the 30-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, but Chicago recovered and won its next two.
Things have definitely changed with the team since Week 1, and the Bears would love nothing more than to even the season series on Sunday, especially since the Green Bay Packers have fallen out of first place in the NFC North. The Bears are now in second behind the Lions.
Tight end Cole Kmet appeared on a recent edition of the "CHGO Bears Podcast" and discussed how important the Vikings game is for the Bears.
"Taking a look at these guys, they're obviously still playing well on defense," Kmet said. "They present a bunch of different looks to us, and they're physical up front, it's a divisional opponent, so we know what we're kinda getting from that standpoint. So, it's gonna be a tough challenge for us. Going out to Minnesota and getting a win here. You know, as we enter these games in the division down the stretch, we gotta have them. We just gotta find a way to win. That's what we've been doing in weeks past, and we gotta do it again this week. So, excited about the challenge, it'll be a good one for us, and hopefully, we'll get a little redemption."
Kmet appeared on the injury report this week with a back injury and was limited in Wednesday's practice but was upgraded to a full participant on Thursday.
Kmet and rookie tight end Colston Loveland have turned into a dynamic duo, combining for 436 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
For quarterback Caleb Williams, he has yet to beat Kevin O'Connell and the Vikings since entering the league last season. He is 0-3 so far in his career against Minnesota.
On top of that, the Bears are also searching for their first win against a divisional opponent in 2025.
Can the Bears get a win over their NFC North foe on the road in Week 11? We'll have to wait and see as that game kicks off at noon CT on Fox.
