There are plenty are new faces on the Chicago Bears this year after the franchise was a spender in the offseason.
General Manager Ryan Poles made many new additions, but the offensive linemen he brought in are really starting to pay off.
Poles traded for Joe Thuney from the Kansas City Chiefs and Jonah Jackson from the Los Angeles Rams. He then signed free agent center Drew Dalman to further bolster the Bears' offensive line.
The three of them joined third-year offensive tackle Darnell Wright.
Bringing in Thuney was a great move, as he hasn't missed a game since joining the league in 2016. However, the play of Dalman and Jackson deserves move recognition.
Dalman has played 605 snaps, with zero quarterback hits, allowed one sack, 11 hurries and two penalties. His PFF grade among NFL centers is the third highest, at 81.5.

Joe Thuney & Jonah Jackson get talked about a lot as great pickups this off-season, but don't forget about Drew Dalman.

-81.5 PFF Grade (3rd amongst centers)
Bears fans begged for a C, and Ryan Poles got us a good one. 🔥
Jackson was traded to Chicago for a sixth-round pick from Los Angeles. Before joining the Rams, he played for the Detroit Lions from 2020-22 and made the Pro Bowl in his second season with the franchise.
Last season, he suffered a shoulder injury that limited his playing time to just four games, but it appears he may be back at a Pro Bowl level with the Bears. In his last three games, he hasn't allowed a single quarterback hit, zero sacks, zero penalties and five hurries in 216 snaps.

Looks like he just needed Ben Johnson to get back to his Pro-Bowl status.
What a steal for only a 6th rounder.
It's clear that Poles and head coach Ben Johnson understand the importance of having a solid offensive line, a similar approach to the one the Lions took during their rebuild.
What a difference a year makes, because the Bears allowed the most sacks in 2024 (68), and now have the third fewest in the NFL heading into Week 11 at 14. The only teams with fewer are the Denver Broncos (11) and Seattle Seahawks (10).
The better protection of Williams has paid off, as he has 2,136 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. The offensive line didn't allow any sacks in the 24-20 win over the New York Giants either.
Cohesion on the offensive line is key in the success of an NFL team, and Johnson got the memo in his first year with the franchise.
The protection on the offensive line will be tested on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings defense, which ranks 12th in the NFL with 24 sacks this season.
Kickoff will be at noon CT on Fox.
