A former Eagle's cryptic wink suggests Philadelphia's offense may have been an open book during their recent loss.

One Chicago Bears player had a sort of homecoming on Friday, as the team faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson was with the Eagles last season, as they won the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.

He was then traded to the Houston Texans in the offseason. He played in three games for the Texans before joining the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.

He was released by the Ravens just a few days later.

The Bears signed him after injuries piled up in the secondary. Up until Friday, Jaylon Johnson (groin) and Kyler Gordon (calf) had missed significant time. Johnson hadn't played since Week 2, and Gordon returned from the injured reserve since being there since Week 8.

The Bears beat the Eagles 24-15, and Gardner-Johnson appeared on a recent episode of "Speakeasy," hosted by former Philadelphia players Lesean McCoy and Emmanuel Acho.

They initially asked him if he was talking trash to his former teammates, and Gardner-Johnson took the humble route. However, they then asked if what the Eagles were doing was predictable, and he winked at the camera.

"Nah, I got too much respect for them to even disrespect the players that I played with, but it's like more so, we disrespected them on defense, though," Gardner-Johnson said.

Since joining the Bears, Gardner-Johnson has been playing at the nickel spot in the secondary. However, Gordon usually plays there, so it'll be interesting to see what Chicago decides to do.

Gardner-Johnson has played in five games with four starts, recording 23 total tackles, four TFLs, three sacks and one forced fumble.

While the score was 24-15, it wasn't that close. The Bears scored a touchdown to make it 24-9 with 6:19, and the Eagles scored in garbage time to decrease the deficit to nine points.

Chicago's defense had two turnovers, one of which came during a tush push attempt. Nahshon Wright stripped the ball out of Jalen Hurts' hands in a colossal effort play. Hurts also threw an interception to Kevin Byard in the third quarter, who now leads the NFL with six.

At the end of the day, Gardner-Johnson has found a new home in Chicago, and the city has embraced him in the games he's played thus far. Whether his role will remain about the same or diminish with Gordon's return, they will be no doubt he'll give his all either way.

The team now looks ahead to the Green Bay Packers in Week 14.
