Rookie tight end Colston Loveland delivered a game-winning touchdown and NFC Player of the Week honors, exceeding every expectation.

Two members of the Chicago Bears' 2025 draft class balled out in Sunday's 47-42 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the running game, the Bears needed a big game from Kyle Monangai, and he delivered. With both D'Andre Swift (groin) and Roschon Johnson (back) out, Monangai tallied 176 rushing yards and was great at keeping the chains moving for the Chicago offense.

Another rookie that had a great performance was tight end Colston Loveland. Cole Kmet exited the game with an injury, leaving Loveland to handle most of the tight end duties.

Loveland stepped up in a big way, recording 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including the 58-yard score with 17 seconds left. Caleb Williams threw the ball to Loveland, and the rookie tight end bounced off two would-be tacklers for a massive touchdown.

Loveland's efforts earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for Week 9.

At a recent press conference, head coach Ben Johnson said that the award was well deserved and that the rookie is everything the franchise thought he would be when they drafted him.

"Yeah, it's well-deserved," Johnson said. "I thought he really came through for us, and it wasn't the first week he's done that. We've kinda put him in some positions there throughout the season so far, where fourth quarter and we needed to close the game out and the ball tended to find his hands. So, I think he's that type of guy, when called upon he's gonna answer it. The bigger the moment I think he's gonna rise to the occasion."

Loveland was the first draft pick the Bears made back in April, taking the tight end out of Michigan with the 10th overall pick.

Chicago also drafted receiver Luther Burden III (Missouri), offensive lineman Ozzy Trapilo (Boston College), defensive lineman Shemar Turner (Texas A&M), linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II (Maryland), offensive lineman Luke Newman (Michigan State), cornerback Zah Frazier (UTSA) and Monangai (Rutgers).

After Sunday's performance, Loveland has 234 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is currently fourth on the team in receiving yards, sitting behind Olamide Zaccheaus (243), DJ Moore (403) and Rome Odunze (473).

Whether or not Loveland can follow up that outing with another one is yet to be seen. The Bears face the New York Giants on Sunday, who allowed the ninth-most passing yards per game in the league at 249.

Kickoff will be at noon CT on Fox.
