A bold redraft shuffles the 2024 quarterback class, sparking debate. See which rising star gets overlooked despite elite play and record-breaking throws.

The 2024 NFL Draft class had some quality talent at quarterback.

The Chicago Bears took Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick, then the Washington Commanders selected Jayden Daniels at No. 2 and the New England Patriots picked Drake Maye third overall.

Daniels had the best rookie season out of the three. He helped lead his team to the NFC Championship Game and had 3,568 passing yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He made the Pro Bowl and was the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Maye and Williams missed the playoffs as rookies. Williams had 3,541 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions, while Maye ended the year with 2,276 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

In 2025, Williams and Maye made big strides. Williams set a new franchise record for single-season passing yards (3,942) and led the Bears to the Divisional Round. He had 3,942 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Maye and the Patriots are still in the playoffs, as they head to the Super Bowl to face the Seattle Seahawks. Maye leads the NFL in completion percentage (72%) and threw for 4,394 passing yards, 31 touchdowns and eight interceptions in the regular season.

Daniels didn't have the best of luck in 2025. He missed significant time due to injury and had seven games played this past season.

On a recent edition of ESPN's "Get Up," the crew redrafted the top three quarterbacks from the 2024 draft class. Dominique Foxworth picked Maye, Daniels and Williams in that order.

Jeff Saturday went with Maye, Williams and Daniels.

If you are doing this based on stats, it can be easy to see why you would pick this way. Maye has had a terrific season and deserves all the praise.

However, if you look at some of the throws Williams has made in the regular season and playoffs, an argument could be made that he has the higher ceiling.

We can look back at the throw on 4th down in the Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers. With the season on the line, Williams made a phenomenal throw to Rome Odunze to keep the Bears' hopes alive.

Then, there was the touchdown pass he threw in a similar situation against the Los Angeles Rams, down 17-10. With multiple pass rushers in his face, he heaved a pass to the end zone, and it was caught by Cole Kmet.

There's no denying that there was plenty of talent in the 2024 class among quarterbacks, but Williams deserves more respect.
