A prominent NFL analyst believes the Chicago Bears are poised for another significant move, hinting at a strategic acquisition to bolster their defense.

The Chicago Bears haven't really made waves this offseason with their free-agent acquisitions.

The Bears addressed some big-time needs, with the additions of safety Coby Bryant, center Garrett Bradbury and linebacker Devin Bush.

Bryant filled the void left by Kevin Byard and Jaquan Brisker, who both departed in free agency. Bush was brought in to fill the hole left by Tremaine Edmunds after he was released.

While it won't be easy for Bradbury to replace Pro Bowl center Drew Dalman, he is up to the task.

It seems that the Bears are done making offseason moves for now, but First Things First's Danny Parkins disagrees. He made a recent appearance on 104.3 The Score, and still believes a "big move" is coming from General Manager Ryan Poles.

He stated that he would be surprised if the Bears don't address the weakness on the defensive front seven. Poles has too much to use in a trade for Parkins not to expect a move.

"Like everybody, I will be very surprised if they do not address the front seven. It feels like that is the biggest weakness on the team," Parkins said. "Obviously, there are left tackle questions that are serious, but it's the type of thing where I find it to be an interesting time for Ryan Poles, because he has the ammunition to be aggressive if he wants to be. You could let the board fall to you, or it would be very interesting to me to see if he wants to trade up into the early teens. Get in front of the Vikings. Get in front of the Lions, and try to actually take a big swing at the third edge rusher or something like that in the class."

Another edge rusher is needed for Chicago. Montez Sweat can't man the Bears' pass rush all by himself. The Bears were 22nd in the NFL (35) in sacks last season, even with the 10-sack performance Sweat had in 2025.

After Dayo Odeyingbo went down with his Achilles injury, the lack of depth for the Bears was on full display. Gervon Dexter and Austin Booker were the only consistent options outside of Sweat.

Poles could address that in the 2026 NFL Draft, with solid options like Rueben Bain Jr., David Bailey, Zion Young, and others at the position.

Parkins even shared that he didn't think a move for New York Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence was out of the cards. Lawrence requested a trade after contract talks stalled between him and the Giants.

"Like everybody, it's been a quiet offseason after the Bears were back to back to back to back offseason champs," Parkins said. "So, it's been a while since we've kind of had an underwhelming offseason, but I'm still waiting for a big move, whether it be a trade up in the draft, a trade for Dexter Lawrence, or something of the like. Maybe we'll be disappointed, and they'll just go in the next year based on improvement from within and from Ben Johnson's coaching, but something tells me there's another swing coming from Ryan Poles."

Lawrence would be a massive upgrade at defensive tackle. The three-time Pro Bowler has proven how versatile he can be. In 2024, he accounted for nine sacks, 44 total tackles and eight TFLs.

An elbow injury hindered his production in 2025, but he is still a premier player in this league.

Will the Bears make another big move before the draft? We'll have to wait and see.
