Sean McVay knows Caleb Williams' electrifying playmaking ability, especially off-schedule, creates explosive moments that make game-planning a daunting challenge.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay knows just how much of a threat Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams can be.

After the San Francisco 49ers beat the Philadelphia Eagles 23-19, the matchup between the Rams and Bears was confirmed.

Los Angeles got past the Carolina Panthers 34-31 after Matthew Stafford led the charge with two passing touchdowns in the fourth quarter to get the Rams to a win. Caleb Williams and the Bears had a fourth-quarter comeback over the Green Bay Packers and won 31-27

McVay spoke at a recent press conference and noted that it makes sense that Chicago can get back into games with Williams' dual-threat abilities.

"Yeah, just playmaking ability," McVay said. "I mean, explosive plays. I mean, you look at it, you know, the other day, making some critical plays off schedule. I mean, his ability to be able to make plays within the pocket, drive the ball to all parts of the field, but then be able to extend plays, keep his eyes down the field, and be able to make unbelievable throws off platform or to create with his legs. He is an explosive play waiting to happen. It's why they can get back in games and finish the way that they have."

Before the fourth quarter of Saturday night's game, Williams had thrown two interceptions. Once the smoke had settled, he finished with 361 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

His last touchdown of the game was the result of a perfectly drawn-up play by Ben Johnson that made D.J. Moore break open.

Williams has reached new heights under Johnson in the regular season. He threw for 3,942 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

He surpassed Erik Kramer for the most single-season passing yards (3,838) in franchise history in Week 18's matchup with the Detroit Lions. He ended up three touchdown passes shy of breaking the franchise's single-season passing touchdowns record.

It has been a challenging task for defensive coordinators to game-plan to stop Williams. Many have tried, and not many have been successful. Rams' defensive coordinator Chris Shula will definitely have his hands full on Sunday night at Soldier Field.

Shula faced Williams last season, too, as the Bears beat the Rams 24-18. Williams had 157 passing yards and one touchdown. Now, Shula will get another shot at slowing Williams down for four quarters.

Kickoff from Soldier Field will be at 5:30 p.m. CT on NBC.
