The “Good Morning Football” crew believes Burrow’s health is the biggest question facing Cincinnati in 2026.
The analysts of “Good Morning Football” took some time to give their opinions on which quarterback is going to answer more of his critics’ questions this season — Joe Burrow or Josh Allen. The consensus was Allen, who they believe has less to prove as the best player in the NFL.
They said there aren’t many things Allen has left to accomplish as a quarterback besides getting over that hump in the playoffs. However, with a first-year head coach in Joe Brady, the quest for a Super Bowl appearance is highly unlikely in 2026 for the Buffalo Bills.
The main concern the guys had with the Cincinnati Bengals is not knowing exactly what they are going to get from them, even with the new additions on defense. There have been some inconsistencies from the Bengals over the last few seasons, most of which have been due to the fact that they have been without their franchise quarterback for extended periods of time.
But Burrow doesn’t exactly have full control over his injury history. The “GMFB” crew believes this is an all-important year for Cincinnati’s offensive line to keep Burrow healthy for an entire season. He has already made it to the final week before the season opener, but having him available all season is a must.
That’s where they think Burrow needs to answer questions. They all think the first step in disproving his critics is playing a full season, not winning a Super Bowl, which has been a prominent message from Burrow all offseason.
The main talking point behind that conclusion was the season outlook for both the Bengals and Bills. The crew believes an 11-6 regular season with a Wild Card round win and a divisional-round loss would be a very successful season for Cincinnati, but “sounds terrible” for Buffalo. They want Burrow and the Bengals to get the train back on the tracks and simply make the playoffs to build momentum for future seasons.
Kyle Brandt, one of the show’s main analysts and hosts, ended the segment by debating what would be more likely to happen this season — Burrow staying healthy and playing all 17 games or the Bills winning a Super Bowl. Brandt went back to first-year head coaches failing to win a championship to ultimately pick the first option of Burrow completing the season fully healthy.
There were some strong opinions in that short portion of the show, and the Bengals will look to prove their critics wrong by keeping their franchise quarterback healthy and returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2022.
