Allen had nothing but praise for Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow after their thrilling Week 14 matchup.

The Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals put on one of the best games of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday, with Josh Allen and the Bills coming out on top 39-34 in a snowy thriller at Highmark Stadium.

Despite the win, Allen made sure to give credit where it was due when talking about his opponent after the game.

"One of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and really, of all time," Allen said of Joe Burrow. "The dude's an absolute stud."

A Battle Between Two Elite Quarterbacks

The game lived up to the hype as both quarterbacks traded blows throughout the afternoon.

Burrow looked sharp in only his fourth game back from a toe injury that kept him out for most of the season, and he had the Bengals leading 28-18 in the fourth quarter.

However, two late interceptions on back-to-back plays changed everything, with Bills cornerback Christian Benford returning one 63 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 5:25 remaining.

Allen finished the game 22-of-28 passing for 252 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions, and he added nine carries for 78 rushing yards, including a 40-yard touchdown run that broke his own team record for the longest rushing score by a Bills quarterback.

Burrow went 25-of-36 for 284 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.

Burrow's Strong Season Despite Limited Action

Even though Burrow has only played in four games this season after missing time due to his toe injury, he has put together solid numbers when healthy.

He has thrown for 734 passing yards with eight touchdowns through his limited appearances in 2025, and he showed on Sunday that he can still perform at an elite level when he is on the field.

His four touchdown passes against the Bills tied his season high.

The loss dropped the Bengals to 4-9 on the season, which means Cincinnati is now all but out of the playoff race with just four games left to play.

Meanwhile, the Bills improved to 9-4 and kept their postseason hopes alive as they chase the division-leading New England Patriots in the AFC East.

Looking Ahead

For Allen, the win was his first career victory against Burrow after losing their previous two matchups, including a 27-10 defeat in the 2022 AFC Divisional Round.

The mutual respect between the two quarterbacks was clear during their postgame handshake at midfield, and Allen's praise for Burrow shows just how highly the league's best think of the Bengals star.

The Bengals will look to bounce back when they host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.
