Joe Burrow is still a superstar.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is a star. Everyone knows that. In recent weeks, though, a narrative has been brewing among some fans and analysts -- a narrative that suggests Joe Burrow is overrated.

Never mind the fact that Burrow's offensive line has been questionable at best with the Bengals throughout his time in the NFL. Throw out that Burrow has dealt with injury trouble but has been terrific while on the field. After all, he's a two-time NFL Comeback Player of the Year for a reason. There will be people around the NFL world who refer to him as overrated nonetheless.

It is true that Burrow has never won an MVP or a Super Bowl. He did lead Cincinnati to the Big Game back in 2021, however. The former LSU QB has also finished fourth in NFL MVP voting on two separate occasions and is a three-time Pro Bowl player.

It is true that Burrow will turn 30 years old later this year. Now we can go through all of his impressive statistics while on the field and argue the overrated narrative in that manner. We could point to the fact that while Burrow only appeared in eight games in 2025, he played in 17 in 2024 and led the league in touchdowns, completions and passing yards.

Aside from all of that, though, there is another important point to make. Burrow is only going to be 30 years old.

Don't Give Up on Joe Burrow

30 years old is an age where many NFL players begin to consider retiring. Quarterbacks often play well beyond 30 years of age, though. Sure, some QBs walk away from the game at an early age, but many play well into their 30s. Some, such as Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, even play into their 40s.

Many of the star QBs who have played until an older age often continue to find success throughout their 30s. If that holds true for Burrow, he may have another decade of quality football in front of him.

Of course, one of two things will need to happen in order for Burrow to play for another decade. Either the Bengals need to build a reliable offensive line, or the QB needs to find a new home. His injury history is concerning, and his career could be limited if he doesn't begin avoiding such hard hits on a consistent basis.

From a talent standpoint, there is no question that Burrow should be able to continue finding success while on the field. The only obstacle he will have to overcome is the element of injury concerns.

As for whether or not Burrow is overrated, everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's important to remember that Burrow has been tremendous while on the field. His accomplishments should not be overlooked.
