Joe Burrow Gives Prehistoric Gifts to Offensive Line for Christmas cover image

After giving his protectors samurai swords for Christmas last year, Burrow doubled down with the ultra-unique gift-giving.

The season of giving has come and gone, and the annual tradition of NFL quarterbacks giving gifts to their offensive line is alive and well. While it may not be a contest, it is very common for the nine-figure quarterbacks to go all out for their biggest protectors.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow made headlines last year for his extravagant selection of Christmas presents for his boys up front. He said that he was in a weapons mindset, so naturally, he gifted the offensive line samurai swords. One of the most unique gifts seen in the NFL unofficially set a standard for Burrow and the Bengals' offensive line.

Luckily for Cincinnati’s offense, Burrow surely did not disappoint this Christmas and decided to find something earlier than the katanas that dated back to 1550.

This Christmas, Burrow was in a prehistoric state of mind. As a result, he gifted his offensive line an array of prehistoric fossils from dinosaurs, bears, and mammoths.

Some may wonder what one would do with such an ancient fossil, or if anyone would actually appreciate such a gift. It’s safe to say that the Bengals' offensive line was pumped to receive such a sporadic gift. Bengals center Ted Karras expressed his gratitude to the media following receiving his gift.

“I think it speaks to his intelligence and interests and his desire to do something unique," said Karras. “He just continues to outdo himself as always with his kindness and generosity and his creativity. We're just very thankful for him."

It’s safe to say the city of Cincinnati is very thankful for the superstar quarterback. The two-time MVP Finalist unfortunately missed nine games this season due to turf toe, and his absence was extremely impactful, as shown by the Bengals’ 5-10 record. Last week against the Miami Dolphins, Burrow was gifted the award of AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his 309 yards, four touchdowns, and 146.5 passer rating.

When the big three of Burrow, reigning Triple Crown winner Ja’Marr Chase, and Pro Bowl alternate Tee Higgins are healthy, the offense proves to be one of the best in the league. They will combine to earn just shy of $100 million next season, and Cincinnati is counting on the three to shine above their peers to break the three-year playoff drought they currently rest in. With one of the highest salary cap spaces in the NFL this offseason, it’s essential they get the help they need to not just make the playoffs, but return to contending Super Bowls as they did in 2021.
