The “Madden NFL 24” cover features Josh Allen, with the Buffalo Bills QB calling the honor “a childhood dream.”
And you already knew that.
But now “Madden” has dropped a teaser trailer for the newest edition of the video game … and it features Allen - and you probably already assumed that.
So what’s the problem? The trailer shows Allen as a runner … and it shows him victimizing a series of helpless members of the Baltimore Ravens defense.
“It's kinda messed up,” said the Ravens’ Marcus Williams. “I mean, Josh Allen is a good quarterback, but he's not just running people over like that …”
Actually, of course, Allen (at 6-5 and 240) does sometimes “run people over” in addition to all the other stuff the multi-talented athlete does. Fans of the Bulls have seen that in play time and time again … and fans of the Ravens are surely quite familiar with the phenomenon as well.
But that does not means the Ravens and Williams - who tried to set the record straight when asked about the video highlight on “Good Morning Football” - has to sit back and take it.
We can note that just as Williams doesn’t want to see Allen bulling his way through the defense as a runner via a video game, Allen’s bosses in Buffalo would also like him to be conscious of the injury risks involved in his style of running. So in a way, while the Ravens are not going to win the video game argument, folks in Buffalo see the point being made by folks in Baltimore.
