Here is why the Buffalo Bills have to crush the 2026 NFL Draft.
Everyone in Buffalo is tired of watching the Bills come up short in the playoffs.
Despite having one of the top QBs in the league in Josh Allen, the Bills have never reached the Super Bowl with the 2024 MVP under center.
With Allen not getting younger, Buffalo must crush the 2026 NFL Draft, according to Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report.
"The Bills won 12 games and made the playoffs last year, but after coming up short of the Super Bowl once again, head coach Sean McDermott got the gate," Davenport wrote. "Brandon Beane kept his job, but it certainly appears to be Super Bowl or Bust for the Fighting Josh Allens in 2026.
"Beane has already made a draft pick—sort of. The Bills shipped their Round 2 pick to Chicago for wide receiver D.J. Moore. That deal leaves Buffalo with just two picks in the top 125 in this year's draft, and needs to fill on both sides of the ball. Beane's recent history of first-round picks in recent years has been spotty—there have been some solid starters selected (Edge-rusher Greg Rousseau, tight end Dalton Kincaid), but also some major whiffs (cornerback Kaair Elam). In Beane's first year as general manager, he selected cornerback Tre'Davious White at No. 27. He needs a similarly spectacular selection at No. 26 in 2026."
Allen finished with 3,668 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, 579 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns last season. The Pro Bowler enters next season with 30,102 passing yards, 220 passing touchdowns, 4,721 rushing yards and 79 career rushing touchdowns.
The only thing left for the future Hall of Famer to do in the NFL is to win a Super Bowl.
"As much success as we've had over the last eight to nine seasons, we still haven't been able to get the main job done," Allen said after Joe Brady was hired as the Bills' new HC. "So again, what does that look like? Who's involved in those decisions of what it looks like? But I truly believe in the direction of this organization, starting from the top. And I think that, again, whatever Joe needs from me I'm going to do. And I think that it's the right decision for this organization."
Allen had right foot surgery after the 2025 season ended. The surgery was done on a broken bone in his foot.
Allen will be ready to go once training camp starts.
It will be intriguing to see how far the Bills go next season in Year 1 of the Brady era. Buffalo acquired D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears this offseason, giving Allen a new No. 1 WR.
