Josh Allen and the high-flying Bills face a slim betting margin as Lamar Jackson returns to action for a high-stakes AFC showdown primed for an offensive explosion.
Fresh off their bye, the Buffalo Bills get right back into the fight in the AFC this week with a visit from the Baltimore Ravens. There's been no shortage of classic games over the years between these two teams, who also happen to be led by two of the best quarterbacks of a generation.
Buffalo heads into Sunday's game with a 5-1 record, good enough for first place in the AFC East and a tie for first in the AFC. The Ravens, however, are 4-3, sit last in the AFC North, and have their backs against the wall.
That said, they are getting their best player back this week. Lamar Jackson has missed the last three games with an ankle injury, but will play against the Bills. His effectiveness remains to be seen, but he's so good that even a 75% Jackson is better than most quarterbacks in the league.
Buffalo, on the other hand, has Josh Allen. The current MVP favorite is playing some of the best football of his career and has led the Bills offense to be the highest-scoring unit in football through seven weeks.
But who holds the edge in the eyes of the oddsmakers?
As of writing, the Bills are a -3 favorite at most sportsbooks. Some have them as much as -3.5, but it's still close either way.
How big of a favorite is that? Most sportsbooks will give the home team a -3 spread when they view the game close to a pick'em. It seems to suggest, here, that if the game were in Baltimore, the Ravens could very well be the team at -2.5 or -3.
If you want to look at the Moneyline, Buffalo is still favored but it's not as much as past weeks. Whereas the Bills were -245 against the Raiders, they range from -166 to -180 against Baltimore. The Ravens, on the other hand, are +145 to +150, depending on where you look.
If you aren't interested in who wins, the point total is one of the highest for Week 8. Most books have the game at a 54.5 total, which is tied for the highest alongside the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals.
Both defenses have struggled this season, with the Bills only allowing less than 29 points just once this season. The Ravens have allowed at least 23 points in five of their seven games.
Whatever you're interested in, Sunday's game is shaping up to be one of the best for Week 8. So, sit back and enjoy the action.
The Bills and Ravens kick off at 1pm ET on CBS Sports.
