Buffalo faces a depth crisis as 21 players populate the injury report, leaving the offensive line vulnerable and star starters sidelined before Monday’s high-stakes clash in Minnesota.
The Buffalo Bills' injury report has grown to 21 players ahead of Monday night's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, with several key starters still dealing with injuries and a pair of new names appearing on Friday's report.
Buffalo's latest report includes concerns along the offensive line, at wide receiver and on the defensive line. Left tackle Dion Dawkins and offensive lineman Alec Anderson have both missed practice for two consecutive days, while wide receiver Joshua Palmer and defensive tackle Greg Gaines also remained sidelined Friday.
The Bills will have one more practice Saturday before traveling to Minnesota for their Week 9 matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Bills Injury Report: Offensive Line Concerns Continue
Dawkins remains one of the biggest names to watch after missing Thursday and Friday's practices with a rib injury. The veteran left tackle played through the issue during Buffalo's win over the Baltimore Ravens, but his status for Monday night remains uncertain.
Anderson has also missed both practices with an ankle injury. His availability is particularly important with Dawkins sidelined, as Buffalo could be forced to make multiple changes along its offensive line.
Right tackle Spencer Brown has been limited for two straight days with a back injury. Brown missed the Ravens game, making his progress this week worth monitoring.
Wide receiver Joshua Palmer has also missed both practices because of a hamstring injury. He left Sunday's win over Baltimore with the issue and could be in danger of missing another game.
Keon Coleman and DJ Moore were limited again Friday, both listed with shoulder injuries. Moore returned against Baltimore after missing two games with a shoulder injury, while Coleman continues to work through his own issue.
Tight end Dalton Kincaid provided some positive news, upgrading to a full participant Friday after being limited Thursday because of a chest injury.
Three New Names Appear on Friday's Report
Defensive back Sam Franklin Jr., wide receiver Khalil Shakir, and defensive tackle Deone Walker were new additions to Friday's report. Franklin did not practice because of an illness, Shakir was listed as out for personal reasons, and Walker was a full participant with a thumb issue.
Ty Johnson, who missed Thursday with an illness, returned as a full participant Friday.
Defensive tackle Greg Gaines remained out with a calf injury, while Ed Oliver was a full participant for the second consecutive day despite a knee issue.
Dee Alford, Bradley Chubb, Joe Andreessen, TJ Parker, Ar'maj Reed-Adams, T.J. Sanders, Tyrell Shavers and Deone Walker also participated fully Friday. Walker was listed with a thumb injury.
Jordan Hancock remains on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, while Shavers is still on the physically unable to perform list.
The Bills will release their final injury report Saturday, when their game statuses for Monday night's matchup are expected to become clearer.
