Josh Allen was under pressure all game.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is probably really sore today after getting sacked eight times against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.

Along with getting sacked eight times, Allen was hit 12 times.

"It's not fun," Allen said. "I ran into a couple myself. I've got to be better at throwing the ball away. Too many times, I was going backwards."

The Bills dropped to 7-4 on the season after losing to the Texans. Allen finished the game 24-34 for 253 passing yards. He threw two interceptions and failed to throw a touchdown pass.

Allen also carried the ball five times for 20 yards.

"They wanted it today," Allen said. "We had a chance to win there at the end and got to find a way."

Allen was examined by athletic trainers after he said he landed on his left shoulder and it "went a little numb on me." When asked about his shoulder after the game, Allen said, "We're good," though he was shaking out his right hand in the postgame locker room.

During the game, the frustration built for Allen and Co. On fourth-and-1 from the Texans' 23-yard line with just over 10 minutes remaining, Allen handed the ball off to running back James Cook, who was almost immediately tackled for a two-yard loss in the backfield.

Allen was shown on the broadcast visibly frustrated and appearing to say, "What are we doing?"

"Just frustration on my part," Allen said after the game. "In a situation like that, probably should have just banged a timeout. Just getting ... we got the play in late. Didn't give ourselves a chance there."

All signs point toward the Bills not winning the AFC East this season for the first time since 2019. They are two games back of the New England Patriots, who are 9-2 and can improve to 10-2 by beating the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.

"They had 12 hits on Josh, eight sacks. That's not a healthy formula right there," Bills head coach Sean McDermott said. "It's not a healthy way to play or a healthy way to keep our quarterback healthy through the remainder of the season."
